21 Mar James Erickson reaches the Podium at Pans!
Blue Belt, James Erickson was part of a solid contingent of PMAA grapplers that made their way down to Irvine for the Pan-Ams. Coming off his very first podium performance at the Ground Warrior Submission Challenge in Portland, OR, James kept his positive momentum going with a bronze medal finish in the world’s biggest BJJ tournament. Receiving a bye in the first round, James had to win his match in the quarter-finals to ensure his medalist status. In dominant fashion, he did just that; maintaining mount for nearly 5 full minutes! Many competitors train their whole lives and never make the podium at this gigantic tournament. Congratulations James!
Major congratulations to all of our teammates who made it down there to compete as well. Though they may not have come home with medals, they represented Jiu-Jitsu, and everything our academy stands for to the fullest.
