22 Mar Grapple-A-Thon 5: Make~A~Wish Was a Huge Success!
On Saturday, March 21st 2015, Performance Martial Arts Academy hosted it’s 5th Grapple-A-Thon event. The recipient of the funds this time around was the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation helps children who have life-threatening illness’ have an opportunity to live their dream for a day. With a cause as noble as this, it was a pretty good assumption that this would be an easy thing for the community of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practiitioners to rally behind, and that turned out to be very correct. Grapple-A-Thon 5 was the highest earning event yet, bringing in $2500!!
Huge thank you to everyone that donated and helped make the day such a success. Two athletes managed to complete all 40×5 minute rounds- Andrew Mckay of Performance Martial Arts Academy, and Peter Hulce of Hig’s Gym! Fantastic work guys!
There were once again over 50 grapplers from schools all over Oregon! The following schools were represented:
Performance Martial Arts Academy
Performance Martial Arts Academy: Roseburg
Hig’s Gym
Clark’s University of Martial Arts
Gracie Technics
Impact Jiu Jitsu: McMinnville
Mata Leao Martial Arts Academy
Thanks again too everyone who came out and supported. Grapple-A-Thon 6 will be happening sometime this summer. Please stay tuned for more news on this as we get closer.
